1. Who needs a "scrapbook designer"?

Someone who feels this way about scrapbooking: "I love scrapbooks but I don't have time/don't know how to create one." "I've tried to scrapbook but I'm just not that creative." "I have a zillion photos and I'll never get caught up." "I have all the supplies but no clue what I'm doing." "I need a unique gift for my wife/husband/parents/daughter/son for their birthday/anniversary/graduation/wedding." These are the kind of statments I hear from many of my clients. They love the look of scrapbooking but have no idea how to create one. They lack time, knowledge, and desire to do it themselves. Many of my clients have tried scrapbooking, have many supplies, and have just decided it's 'not for them'. Hiring a scrapbook designer is not much different from hiring a professional organizer or interior decorator. Think of scrapbooking as interior design for your photos. "

2. What is the difference between a custom and premade scrapbook?

Creative Pages & Cards will take your photographs and memorabilia and design layouts based on the number of photographs, theme, subjects, and color scheme of the photographs. These layouts will be very specific to your subject matter. Creative Pages & Cards will adhere your photographs and memorabilia to the page and provide you with journaling boxes or specific areas to write about your photos.

Creative Pages & Cards will design a premade scrapbook based on a specific theme and color scheme. Premade scrapbooks will be delivered to you complete with designed pages, titles, photo mats and embellishments. You will complete the album by adhering photos and adding journaling.

3. I have shoeboxes full of photos. How many pages will I need?

The number of pages you need depends on the size of the pages you choose for your scrapbook and if you wish to have your photos cropped. Generally, a 12X12 page will hold up to five photos, an 8-1/2X11 page will hold up to 3 photos, and an 8X8 or smaller page will hold 1-2 photos. When organizing your photos, we recommend you seperate them by event. For example, if you have 12 birthday photos, you will need about 2 12X12 pages or 4 8-1/2X11 pages. Most clients prefer to order their pages in even numbers so that they have 2 pages for each event. Also, keep in mind that an album will hold about 30-40 page protectors or 60-80 scrapbook layouts. For more questions on photo organization or number of pages needed for a project, please e-mail or call me directly.

4. What is journaling?

Journaling is the heart of the scrapbook. Journaling is the words you add to the page to tell the story, discuss the events, or describe your feelings related to your photographs. Creative Pages & Cards recommends that you journal on every page in your own handwriting. Your handwriting is an important expression of who you are and will be treasured by future generations. However, if you wish, we will computer generate your journaling for an additional fee.
